American Meterological Society

Program 1 - Learn weather, ocean, or climate fundamentals through online courses emphasizing the study of Earth system science as it happens and discover ways to instill the excitement of real-world information across your science curriculum.


Program 2 -On-site professional development courses are all-expenses-paid and are offered each summer for a hands-on learning experience in Earth science. Both workshops involve a full week, on-site experience with online components both before and after the on-site portion.

2811 - Climate Action Academy

The Climate Action Academy is a virtual training program on climate change and green solutions for K-12 and informal educators. Climate Change Teacher Training Academy - UN Climate Change

The eduCCate Global climate change education program integrates a number of key learning and curriculum components to ensure that lead teaching staff can deliver timely and professional environmental cross-curricular material to their students. Rather than forcing timetable changes, we encourage an integrated cross-curricular approach which emphasises placing climate knowledge inside the subject matter in an engaging way.

Climate Change Teacher Training -edX

Learn how to work with your students to help them explore climate change through the use of interactive and engaging activities. These activities are designed for students at the primary and secondary levels. This course makes use of videos, lesson plans and online games developed by the IDB's "Rise-Up: Education Against Climate Change" initiative. The aim is to assist you in the launch of climate change education and actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change in your school community.This is a hands-on course, with examples coming directly from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Climate Generation - A Will Steger Legacy

Join together with educators from across the country this July 22-24 for an impactful training on climate change education! National Energy Education Development Project

In just the last decade The NEED Project has grown to encompass a curriculum portfolio of 100+ teacher and student guides designed to engage and teach teachers and students about energy. At the same time, the training opportunities offered by NEED expanded to include a variety of teacher professional development and training for educators and school district energy personnel as well. NEED’s work in after school programs, student clubs, scouting groups, and home school networks also continues to grow.

Presidio Graduate School

Climate Change Essentials for All Educators is a nine-week program designed to engage and equip elementary, middle, and high school teachers with the tools needed to successfully incorporate climate change into their classrooms, regardless of grade level, subject, or state standards. equip K-12 educators with the tools and confidence to incorporate climate change education into their current curriculum, no matter their grade level or subject. It was also developed in alignment with PGS's values of justice, equity, innovation, and community. Teachers who enroll in the course will engage with the key tenets of climate science, the human impacts of climate change, particularly for under-resourced communities, and the paths to climate solutions. The course is nine weeks and teachers can earn up to 60 hours of professional development upon completion. Some full scholarships for the program are awarded.

Stanford Earth - Climate Change Education

Climate scientists and education specialists collaborated to develop a curriculum for middle and high school science classrooms. It addresses the fundamental issues of climate science, the impacts of climate change on society and on global resources, mitigation, and adaptation strategies.

The Dynamics of Climate Toolkit for K-12 Educators

The Dynamics of Climate Toolkit was developed to support those interested in implementing professional development that prepares educators to understand both the science of climate and climate change and the pedagogy for effectively teaching it. The toolkit includes curriculum for an 8-hour workshop, with activities designed to engage participants in analyzing and interpreting climate data sets and visualizations in a collaborative setting. The workshop also addresses major misconceptions students and adults hold about climate, global warming, and climate change.

United Nations Climate Change (UNCC) e-learn

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn) is a joint initiative of more than 30 multilateral organizations helping countries to achieve climate change action both through general climate literacy and applied skills development. UN CC:Learn provides strategic advice and quality learning resources to help people, governments and businesses to understand, adapt, and build resilience to climate change, The UN CC:Learn knowledge-sharing platform provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for accessing climate change learning resources and services offered by the UN system.

UNESCO

The first online learning course on Climate Change for the Secondary Teachers is now available. This innovative training kit, entitled UNESCO Course for Secondary Teachers on Climate Change Education for Sustainable Development (CCESD) is designed to give teachers confidence, through a series of six-day programmes, to help young people understand the causes and consequences of climate change today. The course aims to bring climate change education outside the science classroom into all subject areas liable to be affected by climate change. These include as ethics, social studies, economics and political science, among many others.
